In a few dates…
The company Apifood, created by 3 partners in 1990, sets up in offices located at the M.I.N. (National Wholesale Market) of Montauban.
It then marketed the main fruit varieties produced by the region, starting with apples.
In 1993, Eric Tastayre decided to continue the "adventure" alone.
The company then experienced steady growth year after year.
Jean-Michel Lassabe, an engineer from Purpan who had spent a few years at the Rungis market, joined Apifood by taking 50% of the company's capital.
A new impetus was given!
The offer became specialized, and certain products were favored over others (especially apples) because the company has a motto: "We will always favor quality over quantity."
After having been precursors in importing the Rocha pear from Portugal, Apifood innovated by launching a 100% PGI "citrinos do Algarve" citrus fruit offer, distinguished by the presence of leaves, a guarantee of freshness.
The Agrumine brand was born. Today, it is a benchmark for quality on the French and European markets.
It was Florent Darrios' turn to strengthen the team. He would subsequently enter the company's capital.
A crucial step, Apifood acquired a 1500 m2 warehouse in Moissac and equipped it with the latest "cold storage" technologies.
A large part of the production transits through the station each year, where a team works daily to receive, inspect, and ship orders to customers in France and Europe.
This was Apifood's wish.
The company participates in new production investments and now benefits from more efficient tools.
